🍃🇪🇺✨ 6th Transnational Meeting of Urbact Small in Larisa, Greece! ✨☀️ Over two incredible days, representatives from our Urbact Small network gathered in Larisa for the mid-term review, sharing progress, exchanging ideas, and refining strategies. Here's what we accomplished: 🔍 Peer Review & City Updates Each city presented their state of play and shared drafts of their Integrated Action Plans (IAPs). 😉The commitment to participatory planning through ULG (Urbact Local Group) meetings remains stronger than ever! 💡 Workshops with Lead and Ad Hoc Experts🫴 Pietro Elisei IO CHATZIVARYTI Pietro Verga Experts facilitated interactive sessions to: -Refine objectives and strategies. -Explore opportunities for funding and risk mitigation. -Dive into car-lite strategy planning, fostering sustainable mobility solutions. 🌟 Excited to see the testing actions evolve and contribute to meaningful urban transformations! 🌟 Day 2 of the S.M.ALL MTR Meeting in Larissa 🇬🇷 took sustainable mobility 4ALL to the next level! Today LP #Ferrara guided us through the S.M.ALL state of play, unveiling the roadmap to the 2nd reporting period. From activities to financial plans and pilot actions, every detail was aligned to ensure impactful outcomes for our partner cities. 📈🛠️ Then inspiring workshop on “Planning Car-Lite Strategies for Cities” led by Ad Hoc Expert Pietro L. What a day! I was privileged of working as an ad hoc expert for the S.M. ALL Network, organizing and facilitating a participatory workshop focused on advancing inclusive urban mobility. Together with S.M.ALL partners, we tackled two critical themes: 1️⃣ Risk Mitigation in Urban Mobility Projects We explored strategies for identifying, assessing, and addressing potential risks in implementing Integrated Action Plans (IAPs). Highlights included: an interactive Breakout workshop where participants worked on real risk scenarios for their IAPs, evaluating their likelihood, impact, and solutions. Providing collaborative feedback to refine approaches and ensure tailored, actionable insights. 2️⃣ Funding and Resourcing for Inclusive Mobility In this session, I tried to equip cities with tools to secure and manage financial and operational resources for their mobility plans. Key takeaways: Identifying diverse funding sources, from public budgets and EU grants to private investments, exploring innovative financing mechanisms like green bonds and public-private partnerships and developing a financial roadmap to align resources with action plan priorities and foster sustainability. A Heartfelt Thank You to the URBACT Secretariat for this incredible opportunity, and to Pietro Elisei and Pier Paolo Pentucci for their trust and support. It’s been inspiring to work with such a passionate and dedicated network of cities, driving real progress toward inclusive, accessible, and sustainable urban mobility.
