ValeCap acted as financial advisor to Funds managed by UBS Asset Management in the sale of a mixed photovoltaic and biogas portfolio in Italy. Milan, November 8, 2024 - ValeCap is pleased to announce it acted as exclusive financial advisor to Funds managed by UBS Asset Management (“UBS-AM”) in the sale to Tages of a mixed portfolio of 13 solar photovoltaic plants, with a total installed capacity of 14 MW, and four biogas plants, with a total installed capacity of 4 MW. The biogas plants will be converted to biomethane production by 2026 with each plant having a potential production capacity of around 300 Smc/h of biomethane. Once fully operational, the portfolio will be able to produce over 2 million Smc of biomethane annually. ValeCap also acted as exclusive financial and model advisor in the context of the refinancing transaction closed in March 2022 for the portfolio. It represented the first hold-co financing completed in Italy for a renewable energy portfolio with mixed technologies. ValeCap acted as sole financial advisor to Sunprime for the Eur 204 mm project financing package required for the construction of a 220 MW greenfield Italian photovoltaic portfolio. On July 30, 2024, the European Investment Bank, Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking and the Sunprime have closed a Eur 204 million project finance transaction to finance one of the largest greenfield photovoltaic portfolios in Italy. ValeCap acted as sole financial advisor to Sunprime in the transaction. Sunprime is an independent producer of renewable energy from photovoltaic systems, specialising in the development, construction and operation of photovoltaic systems in Italy. Founded in 2020, Sunprime owns and operates about 180 MW of installed capacity to date and employs over 110 people. The financing will support the construction of more than 100 photovoltaic plants on roofs and on land throughout Italy, with a total installed capacity of 220 MW. Once operational, these plants will produce almost 275 GWh/year of renewable energy, meeting the annual needs of more than 105.000 Italian households. ValeCap acted as sole financial advisor to EnValue and MSE Solar in the sale of the majority stake in their subsidiary, Parco Solare Friulano 2, to A2A. ValeCap acted as sole financial advisor to EnValue and MSE Solar in the sale of the majority stake in their subsidiary, Parco Solare Friulano 2, to A2A after Parco Solare Friulano 2 recently obtained the authorization for the construction and operation of a photovoltaic plant in the municipalities of Santa Maria la Longa and Pavia di Udine (UD), Italy, with an authorized capacity of 112.1 MWp. The project currently represents the largest photovoltaic development in northern Italy. A2A is currently constructing another photovoltaic plant in the same municipalities with a capacity of 59.1 MWp. With over 150 MWp installed in total, the two projects will represent the main photovoltaic hub in northern Italy. The joint infrastructure will produce a total of more than 210 GWh per year, meeting the electricity needs of more than 75,000 households, reducing natural gas consumption by approximately 40 million cubic meters, and avoiding the emission of approximately 90,000 tonnes of CO2. The construction of the plant will continue to be managed by EnValue and MSE Solar, acting through EnValue Italia as the EPC contractor.
