🔭 The Einstein #Telescope (aka ET) is the future of #gravitationalwave detection, a next-generation observatory that will bring groundbreaking advancements in our understanding of the #Universe. Currently, a competition is underway to determine its location, with two candidate sites vying for this prestigious project: #Sardinia, #Italy, and the Meuse-Rhine region, straddling Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Each location offers unique advantages, from geological stability to regional expertise. A recent study led by researchers at #Harvard reveals that #Mars maintained a protective global magnetic field for hundreds of millions of years longer than previously believed. This extended period could have allowed the Red Planet to retain liquid water on its surface, raising the possibility of a more prolonged window for habitability.  The discovery was made by analyzing meteorite samples, which gave evidence of a #planetary #magnetic #field lasting until around 3.9 #billion years ago.  This finding reshapes our understanding of Mars' #climate evolution and its potential to support #life in the past. https://lnkd.in/gDrXmV8D

But.. what’s a Qubit? 🤔 A Qubit is a simple quantum system that has two states, similarly to the well known classical binary bit that can either be 0 or 1. However, strange things happen in the fuzzy quantum world, and a Qubit doesn’t need to be either 0 or 1, but be both at the same time. In quantum terms, a Qubit can be in a coherent superposition of multiple states simultaneously. The implications are so complex and deep that we are just beginning to uncover the countless possibilities and advances that will derive from using Qubits! Venerdì sera le 1.300 e oltre persone che erano presenti al Centro Padova Congress hanno potuto vivere in prima persona il potere del connubio tra la musica eseguita per l’occasione dal l'Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto diretta da Marco Angius e le immagini magistralmente composte da Matias Guerra direttore creativo di VIS - Virtual Immersions in Science: “Una sfida notevole realizzare un parallelismo tra l’espansione dell’universo e l’intuizione dell’infinito che ci regala Schubert ne La Grande: ci fa pensare a un tempo non lineare, a uno spazio-tempo che è luogo mentale da attraversare più volte, ricco di sorprese, ma anche di richiami ed echi.” Spazio e tempo. Suono e immagini. E un emozione fortissima che ha pervaso tutta la platea.
