"Realistic Utopias" is the theme of this edition of the Technology Biennale, inviting the conception of the future with an approach that combines idealism and pragmatism.   This theme emphasizes that realism and utopia can coexist harmoniously, stimulating the search for new models that integrate technology, humanity, and society in innovative ways.   The event is an invitation to people of all ages to explore future visions that are both bold and achievable, with the goal of collectively building new and feasible worlds.   The program of the Technology Biennale, taking place in Turin from April 17 to 21, highlights various technological aspects with over 160 events including lectures, debates, meetings, exhibitions, and shows. LIVE BETTER: #SCEWC2024. Tanti gli espositori, piccoli e grandi. Due padiglioni occupati, tante opportunità di incontri, talk, conferenze ospitate in ambienti dai colori vivaci che caratterizzano da sempre l'evento. Cresce la consapevolezza delle opportunità e del valore dei dati e delle tecnologie AI applicate alla città. Allo stesso tempo emerge come questi siano strumenti che senza uno scopo chiaro rimangono pressoché inutili. Possiamo avere capacità incredibili di acquisizione di informazioni dalla lettura delle immagini o dei video, capacità di ascolto della città nei suoi diversi aspetti fisici e sociali grazie a innumerevoli sensori e strumenti sempre più integrati e semplici da configurare, tuttavia rimane la domanda: per cosa? Progetti pilota costituiscono casi di studio verticali ma il vero valore è rispondere trasversalmente alle diverse tipologie di problemi che caratterizzano la complessità dello spazio urbano. Questa è una sfida la cui risposta è ancora lontana forse perchè non c’è chiarezza della domanda. Accumuliamo tantissimi dati che sono risposte a domande che non vengono esplicitate. Viene in mente il film "Guida galattica per autostoppisti" dove si cerca risposte alla domanda fondamentale. C’è un tema di progettualità della città che non può essere ridotta alla risposta di uno strumento. Un badile è sempre un badile e le domande presuppongono sempre un pensiero e quindi il valore centrale delle persone. Un modo diverso di governance con i cittadini può essere la sfida x costruire domande su cui mettere in azione i dati e le diverse piattaforme. Un tema per la prossima edizione in programma per #SCEWC25 sempre a Barcellona!
