Swegon signs agreement to acquire German air handling unit manufacturer HOWATHERM
Swegon has signed an agreement to acquire HOWATHERM Klimatechnik GmbH, a family-owned manufacturer of modular air handing units, based in Brücken, Germany.
“With this acquisition, we strengthen our position on the German HVAC market, the largest market for air handling units in Europe. With their long history of technical know-how, HOWATHERM’s modular air handling units will be a strong complement to our current product portfolio. Combined with their innovative spirit and focus on quality we see a perfect fit between our two organizations. We look forward to welcoming the competent HOWATHERM team to the Swegon family”, says Andreas Örje Wellstam, CEO at Swegon Group.

This video is a great example of why we need (in addition to a signalling system) an Automatic Train Protectio (ATP) system, or the system that continuously checks a train's speed is within the permitted allowed speed.
Railway signalling systems will ensure that the right instructions are provided, and ATP systems ensure that they are applied.

The ETCS Hybrid Train Detection (HTD) railway signalling system, previously known as Hybrid Level 3 (HL3), is attracting significant attention within the European rail industry. As part of the Europe's Rail Joint Undertaking, one of the initiatives within the R2DATO project is focused on standardizing and developing deployment strategies for the HTD technology.
To gain a deeper understanding of the benefits and challenges this technology presents from the perspective of various stakeholders, we have prepared a questionnaire. The insights gathered will play a crucial role in developing an "optimal" deployment strategy, which may vary depending on the country, market segment, and area of application.
