What are the instruments of culinary artistry? This question took centre stage at Gaggenau’s Culinary Art Exhibition, held in November at the Paris Showroom. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of photographer Laurent Dupont's book – a visual homage to the indispensable tools of renowned French chefs – the event showcased ten large, signed art prints, each presented by the chef-owners themselves alongside their precious know-how. The closing exhibition offered an inspiring blend of art, charity and culinary tribute. Perched high in the hills, 1859 Bel Air stands as one of the last great contemporary mansions in the area. Upon entry, a grand spiral staircase, engineered with aluminium and steel, and double-height, floor-to-ceiling windows wash the home in natural light and perfectly frame views of the ocean, Bel Air canyons, and Catalina Island. The visionaries behind its aesthetic – developer Sean Balakhani and interior designer César Giraldo – worked alongside a legion of craftsmen over seven years, crafting an immersive and welcoming space that balances grandeur with an undeniable sense of home. A new standard in freshness. Pushing the boundaries of technical advancement, the new generation of cooling leaves nothing to chance. At the heart of the new cooling series is a professional freshness system. The full-width chilled drawer and up to two extendable fresh climate drawers with humidity control allow even the most delicate ingredients to be preserved – with gentle cushioned closing. To ensure ideal storage conditions on all levels, the new series offers an ethylene absorber, air filters, and freezer burn as well as oxidation protection to prolong freshness. Additionally, there is a range of dedicated cooling programs – perfected to set the right humidity and temperature for specific types of food. Featuring an adaptive light concept, the new generation of cooling intends to provide guidance by adjusting to the ambient conditions. For example, when a drawer is opened, it dims the surrounding compartments. At the same time, the respective area on the display is highlighted, offering guidance on where to change settings. It also helps to fully utilize the capability of the appliance with animated quick guides for maintenance, among other possibilities.
