Early look at LEGO 75398 C-3PO!

A Singaporean LEGO Certified Store has given us an early preview of the upcoming LEGO 75398 buildable C-3PO that’s set to be released on 1 August 2024.

We get a really good image of everyone’s favourite golden protocol droid, and see that it comes with a display plaque, LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary brick, and also a C-3PO minifigure as well.

It’s great to see the C-3PO with the dual-moulded silver leg make another appearance outside of the 75341 UCS Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder.

The build looks quite sizeable as well, and I must say the curves and contouring of C-3PO’s body is quite good looking, especially his thighs.

I will say it’s slightly disappointing that he isn’t in drum-lacquered gold, and is only in pearl gold, but it would’ve been so sick for him to be properly shiny.

It’s quite tricky to properly gauge the size of C-3PO, but it looks like it could be to scale with 75379 R2-D2 and even 75371 Chewbacca to complete the lineup of brick-built Star Wars characters. May we dream of Darth Vader next?

The prequels and the new trilogy gets some flack, but it would be very cool to have the additional pieces to display him without plating like in Episode 1 or with a red arm like in the new trilogy.
Kind of like how they approached the Back To The Future DeLorean a few years back.
