Happy Pancake Day! 🥞 Thomas Harris, Allysha Michael, ROILEY and Hannah Reed joined the Rotary Club of Jersey Pancake Flipping race to raise funds for Mary's Meals - a charity serving school meals to children living in some of the world’s poorest countries. While we didn’t win the coveted Pan Handle Trophy - a ‘flipping’ good time was had by all.
About us
Baker & Partners specialises in civil & commercial litigation, contentious trusts, financial services regulation, crime, international co-operation & asset recovery, insolvency, matrimonial, and employment matters. The firm does not give transactional advice. It does not own, nor is it associated with any financial services business, allowing it to give completely objective, clear and practical advice. The firm was founded in 2003. Since that time, we have achieved significant recognition for our capabilities in both the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners directories. The world’s largest financial institutions and organisations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the United Nations have employed the legal skills and expertise of Baker & Partners. The firm has also acted for several governments in asset recovery cases with political and international dimensions as well as for corporations and private individuals in civil matters. We have embarked on strategic and sustained expansion. We continue to recruit senior lawyers recognised as experts within our select practice areas and we have fostered an extensive international network of associates, consultants, and strategic partners. Baker & Partners is a founding partner of a unique alliance with leading set of London chambers, 7 Bedford Row. The alliance was the first of its kind to gain the approval of the Bar Council.

“In my early 30s I acquired a bad back lugging so many books and papers in and out of taxis and trains. A complex court case may have tens of thousands of documents, and searching for a term in a document is much easier electronically. However, I still like to print some important papers so I can make notes on them in court and memorise parts which might be needed.” - William Redgrave Thank you All Island Media for featuring partner William Redgrave in this month's Connect Magazine. William shares some of the highlights of his career to date and a look to the future of what's to come next for the legal profession in general. “AI will probably replace much of the work now done by junior lawyers and paralegals reviewing vast numbers of documents to find out if anything is relevant. AI is faster and as it gets better at understanding what we need, it will become an increasingly useful tool for summarising documents too. There is still plenty of work for lawyers, writing good submissions and pleadings, and standing up and arguing in front of a judge. When you get to the level of persuasion and advocacy, I can’t see AI taking over all that.” 👉 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/emrjatDi
