Algerian Delegation Visits the Business Development Center - BDC and Meets Beneficiaries of Its Success Stories The Business Development Center - BDC welcomed an Algerian delegation today, comprising academics and civil society activists, to explore the center’s key achievements and programs focused on employment, self-employment, and its role in empowering individuals and communities while fostering entrepreneurship in Jordan. During the visit, the delegation met with several beneficiaries of the center’s programs and listened to inspiring stories of individuals who enhanced their professional and economic lives through BDC’s training programs and support. The tour also included a field visit to the "Beit Swimeh" project, one of the initiatives supported by BDC. زار اليوم معالي السيد نايف استيتيه، وزير العمل السابق ومؤسس مركز تطوير الأعمال، نادي البحث عن عمل "اسعَ" في جامعة الحسين بن طلال في معان. خلال الزيارة، التقى معاليه بعطوفة الأستاذ الدكتور عاطف الخرابشة، رئيس الجامعة، وتفاعل مع المتدربين والكادر الجامعي. وأشاد بالجهود المبذولة لتعزيز المهارات المهنية للشباب وربطهم بمتطلبات سوق العمل. BDC Signs Agreement with Greater Ma’an Municipality to Support Local Youth As part of efforts to promote local development and empower youth, the Business Development Center - BDC signed a cooperation agreement with Greater Ma’an Municipality in the presence of former Minister of Labor and BDC founder, His Excellency Nayef Stetieh, and the Mayor of Greater Ma’an, Dr. Yaseen Fares Salah. The agreement aims to equip youth with the skills needed to enter the job market and promote the concept of self-employment. The agreement seeks to offer specialized training in various fields, empowering young people to start their own projects, contributing to strengthening the local economy and creating new job opportunities. This initiative aligns with BDC’s efforts to support the Economic Modernization Vision, which highlights the role of youth in building a sustainable future and driving community development through entrepreneurship and innovation. The implementation of the Economic Empowerment for Self-Employment Program, one of BDC’s initiatives supported by UNICEF, will soon commence. As part of its continuous efforts to empower youth and foster local development, His Excellency Nayef Stetieh, along with the BDC team, visited several success stories benefiting from UNICEF-supported programs. The visit showcased the achievements of young participants who enhanced their skills, gained better access to the job market, and achieved financial and social stability through BDC’s empowerment and self-employment programs. USAID Women Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity “USAID Makanati” in Cooperation with the Business Development Center - BDC Supports Women’s Empowerment in Strategic Leadership in Human Resources Management USAID Makanati in cooperation with the Business Development Center - BDC, a “Strategic Leadership in Human Resources Management: Building an Enabling and Fair Work Environment” was conducted in the capital Amman, Irbid and Zarqa. The training targets human resources professionals within the program beneficiaries, aiming at enhancing their capabilities to develop and implement effective strategies that enhance a fair and inclusive work environment towards women empowerment, as it focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the concepts of the Human Resource Management concept and strategic leadership to apply in the work environment. The training also included topics such as managing employee relations, developing fair and inclusive employment policies, and promoting a work culture that supports diversity and equity. This training program comes within a series of services provided by the USAID Makanati through BDC, starting with evaluating human resources practices and providing companies with a comprehensive assessment along with 16 gender sensitive policies to start adopting with specific KPIs. The training will equip participants with the knowledge to apply policies based on scientific knowledge. After concluding the training, the work plans will be implemented within the companies under the supervision of a human resources expert. It is worth mentioning that the human resources service was implemented in partnership with representatives of the targeted chambers and sector specific associations; the Jordan Chamber of Industry and the regional chambers in Irbid, Zarqa and Amman, the Jordanian Restaurants Association and the Jordanian Logistics Association, and in coordination with liaison officers who were involved in all stages of the program as capacity building measure to sustain the HR Service and provide it to their members in the future. sustainability. This training is an important step towards achieving USAID Makanati objectives in cooperation with the Business Development Center towards empowering women economically and in leadership, which contributes to promoting equality and fairness in the private sector.
