You're not easily distracted.
You just don't know what matters yet.
People with clear targets don't struggle with focus.
Everything that's not the target becomes obvious waste.
It's not about fighting distractions.
It's about having something worth ignoring them for.
Find that first.
The rest fixes itself.

We have set up Empower Village as a recruiting and coaching platform for the young adults we worked with in the orphanages YouMeWeNPO .
This is opening to the public in 2025…below is a snippet of the Empower Village mindset.
It takes a village to raise a child. And they are welcome to come home anytime as we are all here to walk each other home.

Ever had a Day That Started Sour but Ended Sweet?
Picture this: You go to a café for a special day out.
The food looks nothing like the menu, and they charge extra because it's a holiday.
Bummer, right?
But then, you recall overseeing how your day could unfold.
You decide to change how you see things and start noticing:
• Cute dogs make you smile
• Your matcha latte has pretty art on top
• Being with friends feels like a gift
Suddenly, the day doesn't seem so bad after all!
Life's too short to stay grumpy.
Instead of focusing on what's wrong, try to find the good.
• Look for things that make you smile
• Be thankful for the little joys
• Choose to make your day beautiful
Remember, every day is special because you decide it is! 🙌🏻
P.S. What's one beautiful thing happened to you over the long weekend?

This is the tool we use to convey to the aged out youth the 45 things we will be there for them as an adult in their adult life.
As they have no family, aging out causes them to face many life challenges and it is very important to have someone they can rely on to be there for them.
Our success is measured in decades and the truth is, we are helping to raise children and even when they age out, we are a place for them to come home to.
This poem by Christopher Logue, is dedicated to all my friends and colleagues who take time to mentor the younger generation.
Come to the Edge

What is the closest thing we have to a silver bullet to reverse the harm of traumatic childhoods?
The 2023 Australian Child Maltreatment Study has revealed that child maltreatment remains alarmingly widespread in Australia. Findings show that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) such as abuse and neglect are directly linked to significant mental health and behavioural issues, both in childhood and adulthood.
Interesting takeaways:
1. Girls are significantly more vulnerable to sexual, emotional abuse, and neglect than boys.
2. Indigenous Australians are twice as likely to experience multiple ACEs compared to the general population.
3. Childhood trauma has long-term effects, leading to chronic health conditions, incarceration, and employment challenges in adulthood.
What does the research show us about combating ACE’s?
Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) can counterbalance these negative outcomes. Research shows that children who grow up with supportive relationships and environments are more likely to experience better mental and relational health in adulthood. Those with more PCEs have 72% lower odds of facing adult depression and over 350% greater chances of receiving the emotional support they need.
The most important thing when addressing this issue is to develop strong, positive relationships between parents/care givers and these children. If we focus our interventions on empowering and teaching the parents, it will have the largest effect on the overall health of these children. So let's invest in more parenting support for families with a history of trauma.

We are proud that Empower Village is a place where young Ambassadors of 特定非営利活動法人You Me We NPO can come to when life puts them through a test. Like this week.
Now 22 but known since he was 15, we met to coach through a tricky situation to whom he had no one else to turn to.
In the sage wisdom of Dr. Maya Angelou we urge them to just do right!
But that they are a part of something much bigger than themselves and can come home when they need help.
They are not alone!

Salwa Zahid (Your Next Door Coach 💪🏻) and Sebastian Kamilli, you asked if I could redo the workshop "Your Voice on LinkedIn." My reply was if I did, it would be different.
This morning, inspiration struck, and I believe the next step, following what I’ve shared with you guys, is this: Create to Connect.
I’m diving into this new experience and can’t wait to see if it unfolds as I envision—or maybe something even better.
If it works, this will be stage 2 of Your Voice on LinkedIn, and I’m genuinely excited about where it’s headed.
Over the next three months, I’ll be jotting down raw, unfiltered ideas from the bakery of my mind.
Thoughts or words like these:
1. You see the broken pieces of you but miss the light that breaks free to shine.
2. You allow the brokenness because this is how you shine your Light.
3. When someone is in sorrow and pain, I see no sadness, but I quietly celebrate the rebirth of the new that could uplift another soul.
I love them. Do you?
I would share them via email.
Expect imperfection in the English grammar though.
Would you like to read along and help bring this dream to life?
If so, DM me your email address. I appreciate you being here.
Thank you,
Eleen
