March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the contributions of women throughout history, celebrate the vital role of women today, and create opportunities for future generations of women to lead and succeed. Enviva is privileged to have so many inspiring women as part of our workforce. Every day, we celebrate the women of Enviva who are leading the way as we work together to displace fossil fuels, grow more trees, and fight climate change. #WomenofEnviva #WomensHistoryMonth #EnvivaProud
概要
Enviva is the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, a renewable alternative to fossil fuels. We manufacture our wood pellets using sustainable practices while maintaining and improving the health of our forests and reducing greenhouse gas emissions on a lifecycle basis around the world. Our wood pellets are exported through our deep-water marine terminals to customers in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Japan, and beyond, helping to accelerate the energy transition and de-fossilize hard-to-abate sectors like steel, cement, lime, chemicals, and aviation fuels. Enviva operates plants and ports in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, with corporate offices in four countries, employing more than 1,300 people around the globe. Together, we are dedicated to building a renewable energy future for generations to come. Enviva’s mission is to displace fossil fuels, grow more trees, and fight climate change.

Endowment President and CEO, Pete Madden, recently penned an insightful article for The Post and Courier promoting the benefits of wood biomass—low-value timber, such as small-diameter trees and other wood waste that typically lack strong markets—as a promising way to keep South Carolina’s working forests working. We are #EnvivaProud to have sponsored the Pathways 2 Possibilities South Carolina Career Expo! It was great to have been a part of the Expo in Myrtle Beach, helping 8th graders discover their passions and explore future career paths. Pathways 2 Possibilities is an interactive experience designed to help 8th graders link their passions to a paycheck. Professionals from 19 career pathways (aligned with the national and state department of education) have created hands-on experiences that will allow the students to experience these various fields. Our Enviva colleagues shared their exciting careers in forestry, inspiring the next generation to consider a future in renewable energy and environmental stewardship. #CareerExpo #FutureLeaders #Sustainability #EnvivaCareers #InspiringYouth #francespbunnellefoundation #EnvivaProud

Enviva was excited to kick off 2025 supporting the University Charter School (UCS) in Livingston, Alabama! Community Relations Manager Rick Frederick, Human Resource Manager Ashley Fedrick and the Enviva Epes Fiber Procurement Team were thrilled to join UCS Head of School JJ Wedgworth at their annual fundraiser benefiting UCS’s athletic programs. Enviva is proud to support the UCS mission, as an innovative, rural, diverse K-12 school that values collaboration with key stakeholders throughout Sumter County. We looks forward to further strengthening our partnership with UCS and to a bright future, with the opening of the world’s largest wood pellet plant in Epes, Alabama later this year. #EnvivaProud #GoBlazers

Our thoughts are with the Golden State where wildfires have devastated communities and are causing extensive tree mortality. As California seeks to address changing wildfire regimes, the severity of carbon losses from wildfires will have implications for ecosystems, biodiversity, the economy, public health, and more. One potential solution is turning dead and diseased trees into biomass energy before they start massive wildfires. Biomass thinnings and the clearing of the forest understory, not only lower the risk of wildfires, but also contribute to cleaner waterways and lower carbon emissions by promoting healthier forests.
Active forest management isn’t just good for the environment—it’s essential for wildfire prevention. By removing excess vegetation and maintaining healthy ecosystems, we can reduce wildfire risks and protect our communities. 💚 #WildfireMitigation #ForestManagement
