概要
FEW (For Empowering Women) Japan is a collective of globally-minded, English-speaking women of all nationalities established to create meaningful connections for women in Japan. We do this by offering valuable opportunities for growth in career and personal development through purposeful events and exchanges with our diverse group of members. FEW originally stood for “Foreign Executive Women”, who were literally “few” when the organization was founded in 1981 by two foreign entrepreneurs, and has evolved tremendously over our 43-year history, having empowered thousands of women in and outside of Japan.

Joining us online, Dr Paul Bookman of GLIDE Fund and Namino Rivoal of MIMOZA WAYS 日仏女性の人権架け橋ミモザ実行委員会, rounded out our knowledgeable and diverse 2025 Shinnenkai panel. Both echoed the sentiments of other panelists as they felt that diversity of perspectives and experience within organizations also plays a major contributing role in increasing innovation and overall better customer service. In essence, there is abundant proof that in the long term, everyone gains from inclusive organizational structures that benefit employees. Having online members and panelists join us shows the despite the distance, if we are all dedicated to working towards the same goal, we can co-create the FEWture together!

On January 16th, FEW Japan members participated in an enriching Peer-to-Peer workshop facilitated by Rachel Ferguson, a seasoned communications coach. The session introduced attendees to the concept of creating two resumes: the professional resume, showcasing education, work experience, and achievements, and the hidden resume, which delves into life experiences, challenges, and personal growth. A huge thank you to Rachel Ferguson for leading us through this encouraging and valuable workshop.
