Introducing “UAMP Column Kit” for microplastic analysis. This is a high-resolution column kit that connects a pre-column (UAMP-1M-1.0F) and a separation column (UA5-30M-0.5F) with different polarities and film thicknesses. In addition to improving the qualitative and quantitative accuracy of plastic species in mixed plastic samples using F-Search MPs software, it reduces contamination of the separation column itself, reducing the frequency of its replacement. A new technical note has been released. “Qualitative and quantitative analysis of a multilayer polymer film by pyrolysis GC/MS combined with F-Search MPs” Multilayer films consisting of multiple polymers are used for food packaging materials. In the conventional analysis of multilayer films by pyrolysis (Py-) GC/MS, many peaks appeared due to the pyrolysis of multiple polymers, and it was difficult to identify each polymer. In this note, the microplastic (MP) analysis method, which is used to analyze mixed samples of 11 polymers, was employed to conduct the qualitative and quantitative analysis of a multilayer film. A new technical note has been released. “Development of rod-shaped grinding media for cryogenic mill” In pyrolysis-GC/MS, reducing sample particle size as a pretreatment step enhances measurement reproducibility. Recently, there has been increasing demand for efficient grinding devices, especially for microplastic analysis. In this note, a rod-shaped grinding medium made of super-hard stainless steel (SS) was devised, and the yields of fine powders obtained by grinding and classifying wood (toothpicks) and super fiber as samples were investigated and compared with a commonly used spherical grinding media. A new technical note has been released. “Catalytic co-pyrolysis of wood biomass and waste plastics” Biomass is considered an important renewable resource that can be converted into chemical feedstocks, and pyrolysis is used as a thermochemical conversion process. In particular, the catalytic fast pyrolysis (CFP) of biomass has been considered a preferred method because with the CFP of biomass. Also, by adding plastics as a hydrogen donor to hydrogendeficient biomass, the yields of aromatics are expected to enhance. In this report, Tandem µ-Reactor (TMR)-GC/MS was used to determine the yields of aromatic hydrocarbons from the catalytic fast co-pyrolysis (CFCP) and to identify the synergistic effect of cofeeding waste plastic films on the CFP of cork oak.
