-Discover the High Sensitivity of NisshaFIS Semiconductor Refrigerant Sensors- At Nissha FIS, we utilize semiconductor technology in our refrigerant sensors, which are known for their high sensitivity to low concentrations of refrigerants. Here’s how these advanced sensors work: Our gas-sensitive material is primarily composed of a tin dioxide (SnO2)-based metal oxide semiconductor. The electrical conductivity of this material changes depending on the gas concentration in the surrounding environment. In clean air, oxygen molecules from the air absorb onto the surface of the gas-sensitive material, capturing free electrons and maintaining the sensor's resistance at a high level. However, when gas is present around the sensor, it reacts with the adsorbed oxygen, causing the oxygen to desorb. This release of free electrons increases the electrical conductivity, thereby decreasing the sensor's resistance. By reading the changes in sensor resistance, the presence of refrigerants can be detected. Thanks to the semiconductor technology, our refrigerant sensors show high sensitivity to even the lowest concentrations of refrigerants, ensuring that no small leaks go unnoticed.
