Electric Power Development Co., Ltd. (J-POWER, headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Hitoshi Kanno) has signed an aggregation service contract (“the Contract”) for electricity from solar power generation with the PHOTON Sustainable PV Investment Limited Partnership (LPS) managed by PHOTON CAPITAL LLC (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Managing Partner: Yuko Mizuno; collectively, “PHOTON”) through an investment special purpose company. This is the second solar power generation electricity aggregation service contract between J-POWER and PHOTON, following the “Aggregation Service Contract Signed for Virtual Power Purchase Agreement for PV Solar Power Plants” (press news release on dated November 8, 2023). https://lnkd.in/gnuTYW2j

On March 1, 2024, PHOTON Sustainable PV Investment Limited Partnership (LPS), operated by PHOTON CAPITAL LLC ( “PHOTON”, located in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, headed by Managing Partner Yuko Mizuno), has started to operate the newly built Tajimi PV Power Plant ( “this power plant" ) , which is based on a virtual PPA (“the PPA”) with JTEKT Corporation ( "JTEKT," located in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, headed by President Kazuhiro Sato).     The operation of this power plant is based on the PPA (Virtual PPA), which was announced by PHOTON and JTEKT in a press release dated November 2, 2023. JTEKT will receive the environmental value of the additional renewable energy electricity generated from this power plant as non-FIT non-fossil certificates.

JTEKT Corporation (“JTEKT,” located in Kariya City, Aichi Prefecture, headed by President Kazuhiro Sato) and PHOTON Sustainable PV Investment Limited Partnership(LPS), operated by PHOTON CAPITAL LLC (located in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, headed by Managing Partner Yuko Mizuno) , have agreed on a Virtual PPA (the “PPA ”) through its investment vehicle (collectively referred to below as “ PHOTON ”). In anticipation of an era of corporate PPAs, since fiscal 2021 the PHOTON Group has developed a total of 6 high-voltage solar power plants (11.9 MWDC in total) on idle land in the Chubu and Shikoku regions. Under the PPA, JTEKT will receive the environmental value of renewable energy generated from the plants, which possess “additionality”, in the form of Non-FIT Non-Fossil Certificates. https://lnkd.in/gjWQBabf
