This collection merges WOOLRICH’s outdoor lifestyle wear, known for its functional storage and superior comfort, with Spiber’s cutting-edge technology to develop sustainable products that enhance modern urban lifestyles. The concept of the collection is “MODERN NOSTALGIC DESIGN”. Drawing inspiration from the “Pennsylvania Tuxedo” hunting jacket that was popular in the past, this long coat and set-up suit have been updated with designs suited to contemporary lifestyles. The outer fabric is composed of 60% Brewed Protein™ fiber, blended with wool to achieve a luxuriously soft, brushed texture. These items offer both comfort and a bold sense of individuality while reducing their environmental footprint. Spiber Inc. is excited to announce its debut at Milano Unica, where it will showcase over 100 new fabrics, including a wide range of suiting materials and premium Brewed Protein™ fiber blends. At the show, Spiber will unveil over 20 newly developed woven suiting fabrics created in collaboration with Takisada-Nagoya. The collection features a wide range of blends containing 10%–50% Brewed Protein™ fiber and includes materials like wool, polyester, and more—ideal for suits and jackets. Additionally, Spiber will showcase 40 newly developed Brewed Protein™ blended fabrics, with Brewed Protein™ fiber content ranging from 6%–100%, which were crafted in partnership with A-girls. The central theme of this collaboration is “SYMBIOTIC”. This concept embodies Sam's artistic approach of creating in harmony with nature and aligns profoundly with our company's mission of designing proteins to foster a circular society. The collection consists of seven items in total: a coach jacket, a crew neck sweatshirt, a sweat hoodie, a long-sleeve logo T-shirt, a long-sleeve graphic T-shirt, a short-sleeve logo T-shirt, and a short-sleeve graphic T-shirt. Following a week of exciting news, Spiber Inc. is proud to announce its successful partnership with BOTTO GIUSEPPE SPA, a historic Italian textile mill renowned for its high-quality natural fiber yarns. The partnership that began in 2023, has resulted in the development of yarn blends containing 20%–50% Brewed Protein™ fiber combined with cashmere, as well as 100% Brewed Protein™ worsted yarn. Botto Giuseppe is the first European mill to successfully develop and market yarn made entirely from Brewed Protein™ fiber. These yarns are versatile, suitable for weaving and knitting, and can be used in a variety of applications such as shirts, suits, and jersey knitwear. The unique striped pattern is achieved through the differing shrinkage rates of Brewed Protein™ fiber and plant-based polyester yarns. The blend of the two materials ensures a soft and comfortable fit, while their natural color, achieved without dyeing, enhances the inherent beauty of the fabric. The BioCircular Materials Alliance has published its first Progress Report, highlighting ongoing research and development efforts to build a circular infrastructure—from utilizing nature-driven materials and agricultural waste to accelerating biocircular solutions in fashion. We’re proud to see Spiber Inc.’s Brewed Protein™ fiber inspiring new ideas and collaborations in the global textile and design community! Belgian digital designer Elmo Mistiaen has created a unique knitted art piece using 100% Brewed Protein™ worsted yarn and other yarns such as Cashwool and Slow Silk. The work is on display at the TextielMuseum in the Netherlands, alongside creations by renowned designers such as Iris van Herpen and special installations developed in the museum’s TextielLab. The SHAPE exhibition encourages audiences to consider designs inspired by the human body and question traditional ideals of beauty and identity.
