🗒TSUKUBA STARTUP NIGHT 2024 (TG #316) Review (12/5) Last week’s Thursday Gathering featured the highly anticipated “TSUKUBA STARTUP NIGHT 2024”! With over 310 attendees in total, including 280+ participants onsite, the evening was filled with energy and excitement from start to finish. The sessions covered a wide range of themes, including global collaboration, Deep Tech, life sciences ecosystems, and space startups, with key figures from each field taking the stage. It was a unique opportunity to explore Tsukuba’s one-of-a-kind startup ecosystem, hear valuable insights that could only be shared in this setting, and foster connections that were truly exclusive to this event. In the networking area, alongside tech startups and support organizations, six startups from Austria showcased their innovations through demo tables, adding a distinctly international vibe to the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the bar counter served coffee, wine, and sake, enhancing the networking experience with a sensory delight, making the evening even more engaging and memorable. #ThursdayGathering #VenCafeTokyo

🔥TSUKUBA STARTUP NIGHT 2024 (TG #316)(12/5) Picked Session ⭐︎From Tsukuba to Space - Significance of Space Startup Activities in Tsukuba ⏰: 7:55 PM - 8:50 PM 🎤: JPN ℹ️: In the past, "space" was often associated with the dreamy worlds depicted in robot anime and sci-fi movies. However, in recent years, it has gained significance as a solution to various societal challenges, such as national security, disaster prevention, and food supply strategies through satellite applications. Reflecting this shift, the Japanese government has established a ¥1 trillion "Space Strategy Fund" to promote the development of the space industry. In Tsukuba, several startups have emerged based on research achievements from institutions such as the JAXA Tsukuba Space Center and the University of Tsukuba. Furthermore, collaboration with Luxembourg, a European hub for space development, is expected to bring advanced deep-tech capabilities from startups to the space industry. Adding to this narrative, Satoshi Suwa, who was officially certified as a JAXA astronaut this October, grew up in Tsukuba. The city’s technology-rich environment and educational framework make it a focal point for deep-tech startups. Venture Café Tokyo’s Entrepreneurship Program『Community Campus』】 🚀 Under the supervision of Professor Yamakawa, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College–ranked No.1 in the U.S. for 31 consecutive years in its unique entrepreneurship education–Community Campus offers a supportive environment for aspiring entrepreneurs to cultivate entrepreneurial leadership and transform their ideas into reality. 🙌 Last Thursday on November 28th, the participants of the Fourth Cohort got together to experience the essence of the design thinking process through workshops led by an expert faculty from Eirene Management School.
