Our room was known by the front desk to have a bathroom sewer problem- it made the water, shower and toilet unusable. . The hotel offered to change our room if we paid an additional $250 euros. To me, that is taking advantage of the customer to get more money despite the problem they knew they had. They also offered air freshener spray.
So we washed in the lobby sink and brushed our teeth there. Our friends had a poor experience with many bugs and spiders in their room.
The hotel decor was beautiful - but hat had nothing to do with how management solves problems that they knew were already there.
