We stayed here for one night as we arrived in Ireland as part of our 6 day coach trip. The ferry was delayed so our coach driver rung ahead to explain as we had been booked in for dinner. As we arrived we were taken into the dining room and they laid on soup, sandwich and desert which was delicious. While sitting there the reception staff came round with our room keys and information about breakfast. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The only negative will be about the number of stairs we encountered to get to the room, so if this is going to be a problem please tell the hotel in advance. The room was spotless and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was also delicious with again very friendly staff. Loved our very short stay here and would definitely stay again.
Just got back from a coach trip to Ireland and stayed at the Treacy's hotel, we stayed BB and evening meal, first the positives. The hotel is a nice hotel, in a good position, not far from the city centre and by the side of the river, the hotel is spotless, the beds very comfy, kettle in the room and well stocked with teabags ect, although the wardrobe is a bit small for two people. The staff are hard working and cheerful and very helpful. Now the negatives, the first night we arrived we arrived very late due to weather conditions, we was told that soup and sandwiches would be waiting for us, which was fine as it was very late, there was sandwiches, but no soup, some of the people were given biscuits and some was not. The breakfast was not good, the english breakfast was luke warm, the toast cold, the porridge looked and tasted as if it had been made with water not milk, croissants were not on display, I did ask for some and was given them. The first two nights the evening meal was not good, the main course which you had a choice of three which was fair enough, the vegetables were frozen, one of the meals was frozen vegetables, mashed potatoes and chicken done in bread crumbs, the sweets were brought out at the end of the main course and put in a cabinet which wasn't that big, and it was like feeding time at the zoo as eveyone went at the same time, there was different sweets but you basically took what you could get lol if there was two spoonful's then we was lucky, the tea and coffee was luke warm. The last two nights the main course were better. such a shame really as otherwise the hotel is fine
