We had a great experience at this hotel. We had a swim up villa which has 2 bedrooms with queen beds. Each room in the villa has a separate air conditioner so everyone could be comfortable. There are sliding doors in the bedrooms and living area to plenty of patio space and even a small “backyard”. There is a view of St. Eustatius from the patio and of the sunset. We stayed for 12 nights. There is a restaurant and bar on site. Every meal we had was top notch. Every staff member we interacted with were so friendly and helpful. There is a large swimming pool and a jacuzzi, even a children’s play area. I recommend a rental car if you stay here, it’s out of town and you will need transport to the beach and any sites you want to see on St. Kitts.
There is not a formal reception except way down the hill which requires a drive. No lobby. No sundry store or gift shop etc. so there is no running downstairs to grab medicine a bandaid a quick soda or snacks. Come prepared . We were told several time the staff has left for the day. You basically have to dial zero from your room to ask any questions. But if you are not in your room it’s hard to find staff to get answers to things. The rooms are built on heavy hills so walking back and forth to your room is for the physically fit. Same getting to the restaurant walking up 30 stairs. There were blackout ish curtains but the rooms are not insulated. It’s basically shutters with screens so the AC is not really cold. So hence sleeping with no covers. They provide down comforters which are too hot and no single sheet. Super cool rainforest experience close to trail head for hiking nice experience being in a whole house room with a cold plunge pool. The coffee was absolutely horrible Nescafé instant was best option in room and at restaurant. They did have couple tray champaign which was amazing. The bathroom is attached to most of the houses which means it’s outside and only curtains for privacy which blow in the wind and make you feel like your being watched bring clothes pins to put them together if you are modest. We would return but be better prepared for this type of property. Given the price we expected more.
The hotel seems to be under construction, however the staff members are equipped to handle all and any issue that may arise The staff members that went above and beyond to assist as needed are Front desk Stephanie and Bella - professional, reliable and industrious . Both are kind and willing to assist with effective results noted at all times. Restaurant department Rachel and Cherise - friendly and competent with great interaction skills Landscaping Ricardo was always eager and willing to get customers fresh coconuts on site. No request was too difficult for him, he demonstrated his willingness to keep customers happy. He is very kind and very humble . Security Kevin is professional, precise and focus on keeping staff and customers safe as evident by his frequent rounding of the building and ensuring safety with his high sense of awareness. Ikesh is professional and thinks outside the box to resolve any concerns or issue that guess my encounter. He is both proficient and skillful.
Having spent 3 weeks here to really experience a ‘holiday’ rather than staying at our beautiful family home from home on the island- this review should’ve been better but unfortunately it’s down to individuals who clearly do not understand the importance of hospitality and customer service OR it’s probable that they are selective with which guests they treat appropriately. This hotel really needs to revisit staff training to educate staff etiquette to ALL customers from ALL parts of the globe… Mumbling comments between themselves in native tongue thinking guests do not understand what is being said is PURE ignorance and demonstrates slack attitudes. You would expect staff to remain professional at ALL times and represent the brand you work for in a positive light. Perhaps feeling just a little too comfortable in job security and relaxed here to care that much. Some of the attitudes do not match the beauty of the island. We do recommend you don’t believe the hype and try a different hotel on the island as the praises sung about the Marriott do not in anyway match the service. We were told when asked which hotel is the best on the island that it was this one. However we had family members stay in the other hotel up the road and they were very happy. Clearly St Kitts is proud of this hotel standing out in all its splendour but sadly some staff are letting it down. The hotel itself - PROS are that you have no problem getting Sun loungers by the pool. The hotel room we had was spacious & sufficient. Albeit showing signs of tiredness and in need of much TLC for what you’d expect from the brand. Rooms quite clean. Hareem thank you for being so accommodating and one other male staff member in the snack bar- quite young, dark with a lisp, braided locs- maybe you could teach the others a thing or two about personality. Some of the pool staff were nice and a guy who dealt with the cabana for us. Emerald Spa staff were nice. Sorry didn’t catch names. Gym was decent and it’s Lovely that locals can use the hotel facilities and beach. CONS some staff demonstrate questionable mannerisms as if they aren’t used to hearing different accents. Very inconsistent room service, more often than not you don’t get what you ask for on the menu. Then to rectify it you are charged again the room service charge (I did finally speak to deputy manager about this and was dealt with courteously - thank you). Nothing really here at the hotel to do for children- think you’re missing a trick there. No real greetings during our stay in the lobby, some staff look miserable and unapproachable. Again selective attention only to those I presume they think they’ll get a ‘tip’ from. A few bottles of complimentary waters handed out on check-in…meh. On arrival to the hotel, I left my card on the room for charges and noticed numerous online debits all within the space of 10-15 minutes of each other for numerous amounts ranging from £30 to £400. Luckily they had all declined as I hadn’t
We went to the hotel in what I would consider the off season given it was early November. Despite the time of year, the room rate was over $800 per night before taxes and fees, and after taxes and fees over $1000/night. For reference, we went to the hotel for 2 days after saying at the Four Seasons in neighboring Nevis for 3 nights. Our rate at the Four Seasons was pretty comparable, so for the price, I was expecting a comparable experience but it wasn’t that. Here are some things that I wish someone had told me since I was expecting a luxury hotel given the Park Hyatt brand and room rate: - Check in: We arrived at the hotel around 12:30. Check in was a little slow but fine. Our room was not ready which was also fine, we didn't need to change or anything since we came from Nevis, we just wanted to eat lunch. Someone offered to bring us around the resort in a golf cart. We asked to see the different places available for lunch given we just got there and didn't know anything about the property. We were told the only place was the general pool and couldn’t really get an answer if we could also order at the adult pool or if there was a beach restaurant. The person got overwhelmed and dropped us off where they serve breakfast which was closed. We then walked with all of our stuff over to the Fisherman’s Cove restaurant which was next to the check in by the lobby to eat and basically on the beach which is all we had been asking. We were obviously willing to overlook what was a misunderstanding but that is just where the issues started - The Property - While the property is overall nice, the rooms are very spread out in these individual green small tower buildings so fair amount of walking. There is a central large pool, a very small adult pool and a very small beach. The pool has sand around it with a pool bar. It seemed potentially more catered to kids, and overall felt a little more like Disney world to me than a luxury hotel - The rooms - The rooms are fine, they are small and clean but somewhat sparsely appointed, maybe what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We were upgraded to an ocean view room which was nice - The beach - This is where they really lost me. The beach is small and covered in seaweed as they clearly do not clean it. It maybe has ~20 chairs and despite the fact that you are forced to pay a $60/day resort fee, there is no beach service. The chairs are old, metal and completely rusting / peeling. There is no beach service and no one to set them up for you, you have to walk over to a hut and get your own towels and lay them out, which by the way are threadbare and ripping. There is someone who comes around to offer you drinks but maybe every 1-2 hours, the service is very minimal. Again, would be totally fine if we weren’t paying $1000/night. Would have expected more from what is advertised as a luxury hotel, I’m actually not sure I have been to any hotel anywhere near this price range where there is no beach attendants - Se
