About 1 hour from the airport, nothing outside its walls, apart from extreme poverty. Within, staff are friendly , clean accommodation, average food and drink choices/quality. Right on the beach but on 6-hourly tides! If you expect turquoise waters, you wont find them. Come prepared with anti-vomit, anti-diarrhoea, paracetamol, ibuprofen, mosquito spray and plug-in. Buying these locally, will cost you dearly! Plenty of excursions, from £70 per head, circa up to £300 per head if you fancy a Tanzanian safari. On site souvenir shop is a mega rip-off. Better off walking across the road (be aware of speeding cars, trucks etc) into Mama Africa's ”shop” for basic souvenirs at half the price. ”Pharmacy” next door, not worth a visit! On site spa, couple of blokes will try to sell you treatments, massage, reflexology etc. The Gym. Well... Seems well equipped, if the equipment worked! Dirty fan on the wall, one of the treadmills had a slipping belt. Advised the bloke at the spa reception and the other one at the hotel reception, 3 days later still the same. Overall, too far to travel for something so unremarkable.
