Clean energy access isn’t just a climate solution—it’s a lifeline. At COP29, our Director Kat Harrison shared early findings from an ongoing study that underline this truth: nearly half of the people benefiting from BGFA-financed clean energy solutions live below the poverty line, and many are accessing electricity for the first time. Kat joined Liliane Munezero Ndabaneze Chabuka (WidEnergy Africa Ltd), Erik Korsgren (Sida), and moderator Ash Sharma (Nefco - the Nordic Green Bank)—to unpack challenges and share actionable insights. If you missed the event, you can still catch Kat's contribution and the full discussion here: https://lnkd.in/eWsmm9xZ (skip to 6:45:00!) Please share with anyone in your network who might be interested in this conversation! #CleanEnergy #COP29 #Sustainability #EnergyAccess #OffGrid

When frontline vaccinators in Côte d’Ivoire and Mali were paid within 24 hours of their campaign work, it wasn’t just about speed—it was about trust, efficiency, and better outcomes for communities. This transformation was possible thanks to digital public infrastructure (DPI), like mobile payments and digital attendance systems. Our data helped highlight how these innovations are improving health worker experiences, campaign outcomes, and access to care. Bill Gates recently explored this in his powerful blog about the impact of DPI worldwide. From health worker payments to emergency aid and financial inclusion, DPI is shaping a more efficient and equitable future. Read the full blog here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eqhXm39a Thank you to everyone at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization DFT and of course 60 Decibels who made these insights possible: Maria May, Hamani Djibo, Ahmed Hamani, Kimberly Porter, Tripti Singh, Varsha Vadlamani, Srinidhi Balaji, Ayezah Salman, Sasha Dichter.
