The actuarial profession in Kenya continues to grow, with notable progress in the number of qualifying actuaries. However, significant challenges remain, including a persistent skills gap that limits graduates' access to opportunities in a competitive job market. While The Actuarial Society of Kenya (TASK) cannot address every challenge directly, we are committed to building a robust support system for aspiring actuaries. Through targeted initiatives, we aim to mentor and equip students with the skills needed to thrive in an evolving market, especially as opportunities in technology and remote work expand. As we prepare to launch our 2025/26 strategic plan, TASK looks forward to collaborating with you and your organizations to turn this vision into reality. Exactly two weeks ago, the 9th TASK Annual Convention kicked off in Mombasa - a historic milestone as this event ventured beyond Nairobi for the first time. The energy, the ideas, and the connections forged - simply unforgettable! This setting was a chance to rethink the future of the actuarial profession. As the discussions unfolded, innovative pathways emerged and a strong foundation for a more resilient and adaptive profession was laid. It was a call to action for actuaries to lead boldly in addressing the complexities of our ever-evolving world. I want to take a moment to extend my gratitude to all delegates, guest speakers, presenters, partners, and sponsors who made this milestone event possible.
