Our Founder & Chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal was presented the insignia of the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) by H.E. Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India on behalf of His Majesty King Charles III. The investiture was conducted at a ceremony held in New Delhi earlier today, Saturday February 22, 2025. The KBE is among the highest honours conferred by the British Sovereign on civilians, and is awarded in an honorary capacity to foreign nationals. Announced on February 28, 2024, this recognition celebrates Mr. Mittal’s contributions to strengthening UK – India business relations, making him the first Indian citizen to have received the honour from His Majesty the King. He is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Circle of Advisors at the University of Cambridge.
