Community-based structures and systems like CMMB’s Violence Prevention and Response Teams are the backbone of SGBV prevention and response. These teams empower communities to take charge by institutionalizing local solutions, enhancing understanding, and equipping members with the skills needed to combat SGBV effectively. Through their efforts, community awareness is easily achieved, incidents are addressed, potential risk factors addressed, and preparedness is strengthened. Together, they turn collective action into impactful change, ensuring safer communities for all.

Many survivors of gender-based violence face significant barriers in accessing critical services, often due to transportation challenges. To address this in Siaya County, the "Guardian Riders" intervention by #CMMBKenya was established, offering not only dependable transportation but also emotional support and guidance to ensure survivors receive timely care.
Thirteen carefully selected and verified motorcycle riders, chosen through a structured process, were trained and sensitized on GBV and referral pathways to better support survivors. This compassionate initiative provided safe and reliable assistance to 53 survivors, helping them access essential post-violence care services with dignity and care.
Together, we’re fostering resilience and breaking cycles of violence.
