Meet Gabriel Mango Co-founder of Eco Print Generation, a 21-year-old student who is passionate about solving the community's problems using technology by turning plastic waste into a valuable asset such as a 3D printing filament that makes models. In the context of Mombasa, they have Tech Kids Africa who normally do 3D printing, and they normally have the problem of buying 3D printing filament from outside. And so they provided the solution of making it locally. They are print-on-demand business that targets, the education industry. Mostly, they can make models that can benefit kids in school in STEM subjects for better understanding. What inspires Gabriel to do more is go beyond whatever, cocoon you're at, then maybe do more. Having a great mindset would help you through the entrepreneurship journey. Making use of the resources you already have because one thing that entrepreneurship has actually really taught him is that the current thing that you may have in the environment can actually benefit you in whatever you are doing. • Carol Ojijo, who is one of the co-founders of Rafiki Peps along with Terry and Mohammed. She is in charge of finances at Rafiki Peps, a youth-led social enterprise founded as a result of the Mombasa Plastic Prize Competition. Their solution is to segregate wastes from the source, particularly if they're recyclable, organic, and non-recyclable. They also incorporate education because waste segregation is a major challenge without education and community involvement. At the end of the Mombasa Plastic Prize incubator phase, they were allowed to pitch for the Boost Plus program and were selected. Through the Boost Plus program, they got a financial investment that enabled them to get a truck that is insurance to increase operations. Initially, they operated using, Kokoteni, which is the local hand cut, which was labor intensive. An advice she would give to an upcoming entrepreneur is just start and believe in yourself. The entrepreneurship journey is not easy. It comes with a lot of challenges and setbacks. But once you believe in yourself, see a future, and are confident that whatever you're doing will bring impact to the society, take the bold step and move on.
