Nichodemus Kiprop is a resident of Kapsowar, Elgeyo Marakwet. For a long time, access to water was a daily struggle. He remembers having to walk long distances to fetch water for his family, livestock, and school. But today, thanks to the 𝙐𝙬𝙖𝙟𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙠𝙖𝙟𝙞 𝙣𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙤 (𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘿𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩) initiative, life has transformed. The revival of a reservoir tank project has brought clean water closer to homes, schools, and churches. Beyond meeting basic needs, the community can now grow vegetables even during dry seasons, fostering food security and sustainability. ##C4CKenyaDialogue2024 on #Localization W𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱? • As INGOs, we need to work collaboratively to provide organizational support and build capacity for Local and National Actors (LNAs). • There is a need to allocate resources effectively to ensure meaningful support. • Local and National Actors should engage proactively and show strong commitment. • It’s important for LNAs to leverage opportunities within the PBO Act. • Signatories could offer more direct support, such as volunteering on boards. ~Annette Mumbi, DCA_ Kenya Head of Finance Charter4Change Kenya Working Group Save the Children Kenya & Madagascar Catholic Relief Services
