Dear fellow Kenyans, the government has declared war on us in the agriculture industry and it's time we are also going to war. Since the Genz lead revolution that led to the abortion of the finance bill, the government has turned it's attention to alternative sectors and farming hasn't been spared. Since the drop of the finance bill, the government has been introducing bill after bill targeting the farmers. Here is a list of agriculture Bills 1. Livestock Bill 2024 2. Mung Bean bill 2022 3. Agriculture Professional Registration And licencing bill 2024 4. Nuts and oil crops development bill 2023 5. Horticultural crop authority bill 6. Land amendment bill among others We also believe that more are still on the way. As key players in this industry, we are standing up to speak up and challenge these punitive laws that will challenge our food security and sovereignty. Together with other concerned citizens, we are standing up to challenge the government and demand accountability and I want to ask all my friends, fellow farmers and concerned citizens to join us in this fight. Food is one industry that affects all of us irrespective of your industry because you must eat every single day. I will now step restructure our brands namely Mushrooms Kenya www.mushroomskenya.co.ke and Demi Farms www.demifarms.co.ke and move forward to get out there and let our voices be heard. In a mix of strategies such as educating our farmers and the general public, seeking justice through courts and more. In this regard, we are building a community of farmers called Farmers together www.farmerstogather.com to push forward in one voice.

To get more yield for your mushrooms. You got to supplement the substrate. Here, while training farmers in Lanet Nakuru, we show you how to supplement the wheat straw. #demifarms #wheatstraw #mushrooms #farm #farming #Training #WomenEmpowerment

Imagine we will soon not be able to sell to our neighbours without a licence in Kenya and a turn of regulations, else even the buyers risk jail. Read more about KS1758 regulation and how it will lock millions of farmers from the market on our website https://lnkd.in/dhF-G7k3

How to preserve mushrooms spawn The picture is a pic of white button mushrooms spawn that we used and remained then put back in refrigeration. Most farmers asks us always, Mushrooms Kenya how do I need to preserve the spawn? And the answer is pretty simple, there are different types of spawns having different preservation methods. For example, button mushrooms spawn which is one of the popular type of mushrooms in Kenya is very delicate and needs to be refrigerated under 4 degrees Celsius while oyster mushrooms, the second most popular type can be kept under room temperatures without preservation. But, the preservation goes beyond that, for example you cannot just expose the spawn to excess heat and expect it to work. What are some of the experiences as farmers you have had with spawn? #mushrooms #mushroomhunting #mushroomcoffee #mushroomrecipes #mushroomhunter #mushroomsofinstagram #fungi #fungiphotography #fungifam #fungilove
