This week, we spotlight Mr. Green Trading Africa Kenya Ltd., another super impactful DOB Equity portfolio company leading the way in sustainable waste management and recycling in East Africa. Recently, members of our team, Karen Serem Waithaka and Frank Tobé Tobe, visited Mr. Green Africa’s operations. The team started the tour at a community collection centre where Sylvia, the Collections superstar took us through the sourcing journey. The team then visited the aggregation and sorting site before finally getting to the processing centre where the magic happens! The tour provided an in-depth look at their innovative solutions for plastic waste, from empowering local collectors through community networks to advanced recycling processes at their facilities. The visit reinforced the critical role Mr. Green Africa plays in addressing environmental challenges while driving meaningful socioeconomic impact. Mr. Green’s work aligns closely with our renewed strategy to create a more sustainable future for East Africa. We are proud to partner with Mr. Green to transform the waste management landscape while uplifting communities. #Recycling #WasteManagement #ReflectiveMonday

DOB Equity team members, CEO Karen Serem Waithaka, Investment Manager Anthony Mahira, and board member Theo van Stuijvenberg recently visited one of our portfolio companies, Victory Farms, on the shores of Lake Victoria. The team witnessed firsthand how this pioneering aquaculture company is transforming the fish farming industry in East Africa. As East Africa’s leading sustainable fish farm, Victory Farms is making a significant impact by addressing critical challenges in food security and climate resilience. Through their innovative model, Victory Farms provides affordable, climate-friendly protein to communities across Kenya and Rwanda while supporting local economic growth. By creating income opportunities for smallholder farmers, they’re empowering surrounding communities - one fish at a time. Victory Farms exemplifies DOB Equity’s refined investment focus on Sustainable Food Systems, Water and Sanitation Services, and Energy and Climate Solutions. We’re excited to see how companies like Victory Farms are driving impactful, sustainable change across East Africa. #DOBEquity #VictoryFarms #SustainableFoodSystems #Aquaculture
