It is always a great pleasure to support initiatives driving real impact in our communities. Meeting Grace Wanene and learning about her work at Drawing Dreams Initiative has been incredibly inspiring, especially seeing the communities she advocates for and serves. Last week, she hosted the #PeriodPartyNYK, a dynamic and growing community space curated by Drawing Dreams Initiative. This gathering brought together passionate individuals to share knowledge, best practices, lived experiences, and insights on #MenstrualHealth and its broader intersection with: ~ 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲. ~ 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. ~ 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐝, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐭 & 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠- as a tool for social change and fundraising. This was such a moving session that encouraged us to 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 and 𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 the role we all play in advancing menstrual health advocacy. Thank you, 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞, for curating this important conversation; grateful to have been a part of it!

This was such a glorious event. I enjoyed moderating every bit of it and learning from all the brilliant minds that were in attendance. Enjoyed the sessions by Diana O. And how she culminated by tackling the different fields, ensuring that everyone saw how they could contribute to ending period poverty. Kanana Pauline did some good job in reshaping how we view AI and how it can be very influential in the menstrual health space. Mark Nyaga Mutuma did spark our minds even in thinking on how men can be more included. Seeing men also take part in this was a great stride in the way of progress. Looking forward to more and more of this.
