Joan Lombardi and team, great initiative to add to the basket for a brighter future for all children. Stuff to be replicated in the Global South and definitely, across the globe.
Communities everywhere are turning their focus to ways in which they can support young children and the adults in their lives. To celebrate and amplify these transformative place-based efforts, the Stanford Center on Early Childhood is proud to announce Early Childhood X (ECX), an initiative to advance early childhood systems solutions. ECX will use storytelling through case studies and journalism to feature voices that are making change in their communities. One way to address the learners literacy in Africa is to ensure children are exposed to a wide variety of reading resources. Reading to young children is an important way to help them build language skills. It exposes them to new words and ways of using language. It also helps them learn general information about the world, which makes it easier for them to learn about new subjects once they get to formal schooling.
