🎙️ Exciting behind-the-scenes action from Nairobi, Kenya, where we recently shot episodes for Mathematica’s "On the Evidence" Podcast, a series that dives into critical topics in development and evidence-based decision-making. Day 1: We had the privilege of hosting Dr. Agnes Kalibata, President of AGRA, for an insightful conversation with Paul Decker, Mathematica’s CEO. Dr. Kalibata shared her perspectives on how AGRA is transforming agriculture in Africa, for farmers. Day 2: Our second day on set, brought another compelling conversation. We were honoured to host Jesse Moore, CEO of M-KOPA, who joined Paul Decker, to discuss M-KOPA’s groundbreaking work in empowering communities through innovative financial and digital solutions. Be sure to watch for the full episode dropping in 2025! Catch the series here: https://lnkd.in/eUVjrGk2

🌟 This week, I had the honour of standing alongside the inspirational Dr.John Oredo, PhD, MKIM, PMP, CGEIT and representing Mathematica as sponsor of the Summer Institute in Computational Social Sciences (SICSS) at the University of Nairobi! 🙌 This incredible event brought together 26 talented early career researchers, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates to deepen their knowledge and skills in data science and computational social sciences. 🚀 Seeing the passion and potential in these participants reaffirmed why we at Mathematica —and our subsidiary EDI Global, based here in East Africa—are committed to empowering African researchers to tackle global development challenges through data and innovation. 🌍✨ Keep pushing boundaries, asking questions, and making an impact! 💡💪 #SICSS #DataScience #Mathematica #EDIGlobal #ComputationalSocialScience #AfricanTalent #UniversityOfNairobi #EmpowermentThroughData #FutureLeaders
