  • Today, we had an incredible time celebrating Mazingira Day with passionate students from The University of Eldoret! This special day is dedicated to raising awareness about environmental conservation, dangers of climate change on the young children whom we are working hard to give them smooth beginning, and we couldn't me more thrilled to be part of it. Highlights of The Day ✓Nurturing trees🌲 - Together, we nurtured trees that we planted a year ago at the university by weeding and mulching to conserve moisture as we approach dry months of the year. ✓ Planning for Collaboration 🤝 - We engaged in a fruitful discussion on how we can work together on future environmental initiatives, ensuring that our efforts continue to make a positive impact, focusing on "climate change and early childhood development. We thank all #Students, #volunteers and #Lecturers led By Dr Munyao who joined us in this noble exercise. Your enthusiasm and commitment to protecting our planet inspires us all. #MazingiraDay #UniversityofEldoret

  • Thrilled to share that we have recently conducted a series of insightful meetings with caregivers who are running daycares in urban slums of Eldoret City. Through these meaningful interactions, we gained a deeper understanding of their challenges, needs, and aspirations. In addition, we have also completed a comprehensive baseline study survey to assess the current status of early childhood education in these communities. This survey will serve as a crucial foundation for our future initiatives and programs aimed at empowering these caregivers and enhancing the quality of early childhood education in underserved areas. #childcare #earlychildhoodeducation Uthabiti Africa Simon Wamu Stephen Muasya redempta titus ALVIN DANCAN Bilher Obadha Mercy Sitawa

  • Our commitment to strengthen the foundations of learning within low-income communities in Kenya took another great step! Last week, we had an incredible opportunity to conduct a Training of Trainers session as part of the Education Empowerment for Rural and Urban Slums initiative (EERUi) Childcare Program Component. This session equipped the TOTs with tools needed to empower caregivers of children aged 0-3 years with knowledge on nutrition, play-based learning, and responsive caregiving. In addition, we successfully held an orientation session for our first batch of childcare providers. This session was designed to onboard them into our program, share their expectations and enlighten them on their unique sphere of influence in shaping future lives of the children. This was just one of the series of planned workshops and engagements with caregivers and teachers across five sub counties in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. A heartfelt thank you to all the trainers and childcare providers who participated! Your commitment to improving the lives of children in rural and urban slums is truly inspiring. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development for every child. Global Schools Forum Simon Wamu Stephen Muasya Joan Nasimiyu

  • 🌍 Happy International Youth Day! 🎉 Today, we celebrate the incredible potential of our youth and their vital role in shaping the future! At Education Empowerment for Rural and Urban Slums Initiative, we believe that empowering young minds is essential for building stronger communities. Our current ECDE program focuses on training caregivers in nutrition, play-based learning, and responsive caregiving. By equipping caregivers with the skills they need, we are not only enhancing the early learning experiences of children but also nurturing the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers. 💡 Why is this important? When caregivers are empowered, they can provide a supportive environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and resilience in children. This lays the foundation for a brighter future, where our youth can thrive and contribute positively to society. Let's continue to invest in our youth and ensure they have the tools and support they need to succeed! Together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Join us in celebrating the power of youth today and every day! 💪✨

  • ~Celebrating World Breastfeeding Week~ As we commemorate World Breastfeeding Week, we recognize the profound impact that breastfeeding has on the health and development of our youngest learners. At Education Empowerment for Rural and Urban Slums Initiative , we believe that nurturing begins at birth, and breastfeeding plays a crucial role in shaping the future educational outcomes of children. Research shows that breastfeeding not only provides essential nutrients but also fosters emotional bonding and cognitive development. Children who are breastfed are more likely to experience better health, improved brain development, and enhanced learning capabilities as they grow. This foundational support is vital for their journey through early childhood education and beyond. As caregivers and educators, it is our responsibility to advocate for and support breastfeeding as a key component of early childhood development. By equipping caregivers with the knowledge and skills to promote breastfeeding, we can help ensure that every child has the best start in life. Let’s work together to create a nurturing environment that values breastfeeding and its role in shaping brighter futures for our children. 💚
