#GreeningTVET A delegation from selected #TVET institutions, including #greening champions, trainers, a curriculum developer, and a representative from the State Department for #TVET, is on an incredible study tour in Finland! The team is exploring best practices on #GreeningTVET, #curriculum development, and teacher training, all focused on making #vocational training #greener and more #sustainable. This initiative aims to integrate sustainable practices into key sectors like automotive, welding, and building/construction. The tour organized in collaboration with the Häme University of Applied Sciences, HAMK, one of the institutional #partnerships between seven Finnish institutions and Kenyan TVETs under the #DualTraining programme. This collaboration is made possible through joint financing from Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and teh German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). #GreenSkills #VocationalTraining

The SME Loop approach - 1st Cohort Graduation Ceremony in Western Kenya. Last week, BAYE Africa, in partnership with GIZ Kenya implemented Agri-Jobs 4 Youth project, held a graduation ceremony for the first cohort to successfully complete the SME Loop Programme in #Kisumu County, Kenya. “As a coach in the SME LOOP Programme, witnessing the graduation of our first cohort was a truly fulfilling experience,” shares BAYE Africa’s Martwick Kenneth. “Over the past six months, I have seen these young entrepreneurs grow, refine their business strategies, and gain the confidence needed to navigate the challenges of agribusiness. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment to learning have been inspiring.” The graduation ceremony was not just a celebration of completing the programme, but also a testament to the impact of structured mentorship and networking. Hearing the success stories of the graduands affirmed the value of the SME LOOP Programme in fostering sustainable business growth for the region’s SMEs. The connections formed during this journey will undoubtedly continue to benefit them as they scale their enterprises. With the SME LOOP Programme 2.0 kicking off in the coming months, this is just the beginning of a journey towards transforming agribusiness in Western Kenya. On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science #IDWGS2025, we celebrate the inspiring journey of Victoria, an Industrial Mechatronics graduate, and one of the many women that have benefitted from #DualTraining! Victoria is using her Industrial Mechatronics skills to optimize water systems and boost energy efficiency in #Kenya. Thanks to the unwavering support of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, over 1,000 women are shattering barriers in #STEM and boldly redefining the #future of science and technology. Investor readiness in the agri-food sector - We go again! Last year Afriscope Research Limited partnered with GIZ Kenya’s Agri-Jobs 4 Youth project to support 10 agri-food enterprises in Western #Kenya through a dedicated SME acceleration programme. Over a 12-month period, these growth-stage businesses saw increased growth, expansion and diversification in their operations, increasing incomes and promoting women and youth employment. Building on the programme's success, we’re now excited to welcome 20 new enterprises that are set to accelerate their growth journey under the investor readiness programme! 🌍 Empowering Change: Simulation-based Training for Safer Migration 🌟 Happening now at the #Busia border between #Kenya & #Uganda: What may look like a game is actually an integral learning experience for the participants of this training provided by CIVIPOL through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH coord inated Better Migration Management (BMM) Programme. Designed to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals, this hands-on multi-agency simulation empowers participants with the skills needed to tackle real-world challenges effectively. Working in close collaboration, police, immigration and labour officers, prosecutors, NGO workers intervene jointly according to their mandate at all stages: 🔹 Receiving and assessing information 🔹 Identifying and protecting victims 🔹 Planning and executing operations: from meticulous preparation to on-ground rescue of victims and crime scene investigation 🔹 Arresting and interviewing suspects: ensuring justice begins with thorough and ethical handling of perpetrators   💼 For Prosecutors: 🔹 Strengthening financial investigations and international police and judiciary cooperation, to dismantle organised trafficking criminal networks 🔹 Preparing for court to ensure traffickers are held accountable and victims access justice The BMM Programme is funded by the @European Commission and Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
