We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new trial under the INNOECOFOOD project! As part of Work Package 3, our partner CIIMAR has started a growth trial with Nile tilapia, a key species in African aquaculture. This trial is particularly significant as it explores innovative diets with the incorporation of Spirulina and Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae meal. These novel ingredients will be produced within the EcoHubs being developed by our partnering countries. This research aims to validate these ingredients for more sustainable aquaculture in African countries, leveraging local resources, renewable energy, and circular systems, promoting both environmental sustainability and economic growth. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this exciting journey! #INNOECOFOOD #SustainableAquaculture #agroecologicalfoods #EcoHubs #AquacultureTechnology
