About us

The Kenya Alliance of Resident Associations (KARA) is the umbrella body representing the voice and proactive action of Resident Associations on effective, responsive, and efficient service delivery at the Neighborhood, County, and National levels. KARA is a non-political, non-profit, non-denominational, and non-racial organization, mandated to facilitate formation of Resident Associations and coordinate their activities with a view to addressing service delivery issues in a structurally unified voice. KARA works towards the attainment of its mandate through policy advocacy and influence; capacity building of Resident Associations; facilitating community mobilization and networking; formation and support for the work of Resident Associations across the country; mediation and dispute resolutions. KARA has established strategic and functional partnerships with Kenya's county & national governments, development partners, private sector, institutions of higher learning, and other service delivery stakeholders.
