We had the great pleasure of hosting a fun and insightful mentorship program for marketing students from top universities, including Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), University of Nairobi, Strathmore University, United States International University - Africa, and The Catholic University of Eastern Africa. The program was organized by 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧, our Employee Resource Group dedicated to supporting women’s holistic wellbeing and empowerment. The day began with an immersive visit to our microbrewery, where students witnessed firsthand the meticulous process of transforming raw grains into the beverages we love. At the Innovation Hub, our brewers unraveled the complexities of their craft while offering a sneak peek into our latest innovations, noting that Gen Z’s desire for bold, unique flavors is shaping the future of drinks for this demographic. From there, the students made their way to our HQ, where they toured our workspace, sat in on a panel session, and listened to presentations from the Marketing team led by our Marketing & Innovations Director, Mark Mugisha Kivuna. The team, comprising Brand Managers, Creative Directors, Consumer Researchers, Media Strategists and more, offered valuable insights into the diverse roles that drive our marketing efforts - providing a behind-the-scenes look at how we build, strategize, and execute initiatives that resonate with consumers. In doing so, this session bridged theory and practice, giving students clear insight into the everyday tasks that define a marketing career beyond the classroom. The feedback session was a crowd favorite, as students shared their thoughts on the tour and presented fresh ideas. Their innovative thinking shone through with the concept of catering to non-drinking youth through a non-alcoholic drink called 𝑮𝒆𝒏-𝒁𝒊𝒊, sparking notable enthusiasm. The day wrapped up with engaging group case study discussions, a lively trivia competition (with merchandise and Snapp Social tickets up for grabs), and a tasting experience featuring some of our latest innovations. It was inspiring to see the future of marketing through these students' eyes. More importantly, we are proud to play a role in nurturing the next generation of marketers - equipping them with real-world insights, sparking fresh ideas, and encouraging them to shape the industry’s future with innovation and purpose.

This initiative, in collaboration with Diversey revamped the water recovery system at our Kisumu brewery to reduce resource consumption, and enhance operational efficiency. This upgrade enhances sustainability without compromising our high quality and safety standards.
