This morning, the Kenya Flower Council and Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya (FPEAK) engaged in a vital dialogue with HE the President’s Economic Council of Advisors, led by Dr. David Ndii. Two critical issues took center stage: 1️⃣ Reviewing ad hoc trade taxes on the horticulture sector: Recognizing that unsustainable levies like UCR fees, Kephis fee increases, and Cess fees which must be addressed to ensure trade viability and competitiveness. 2️⃣ Tackling freight challenges: The industry has been called upon to present actionable solutions to enable policy-driven advocacy for additional freight capacity and cheaper freight rates. We are committed to collaborating closely to ensure progress on these fronts ahead of the Q1 2025, enabling Kenya to maintain its status as a leading and competitive flower exporter globally. 🌹 #KenyaFlowers #Competitiveness #PolicyDialogue #ExportLeadership

An avid flower enthusiast, she looks forward to transforming her “brown thumb” into a thriving “green thumb.” With an MBA in Strategic Management, a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, and certifications in professional training, mediation, and SDG compliance, Catherine’s expertise spans advocacy, policy development, and business partnerships. Her vision is to position KFC as a global leader in floriculture advocacy, innovation, and sustainability while aligning the Council’s strategies with industry trends and member needs.
