Kenya Medical Association (KMA) is a voluntary professional organisation that was formed by medical practitioners in Kenya. As a voluntary membership association, KMA seeks to promote the practice of medicine and to improve medical services delivered in KENYA. As the voices of doctors in the country, the Association further seeks to uphold high standards of practice and to promote the adherence of medical ethics and conduct among its members. KMA is committed to being at the fore front of healthcare management by enhancing and integrating professionalism among members; integrating members into policy negotiation, formulation and implementation and building alliances with other health professional association and regulatory bodies to meet the health needs and expectations of Kenyans.

Effective 1st January 2025, all new health facility registrations must include a valid Certificate of Data Handler/Processor issued by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Additionally, existing facilities must obtain this certification within three (3) months, by 31st March 2025. Delighted to have been a panelist at the recently concluded KMA pre- internship conference under the discussion 'Ask A Mentor: Navigating Various Dilemmas As A Young Doctor.' Drawing from my internship and work experience , I emphasized on the importance of taking a break and/or removing oneself from hostile work environments for the safety of your health. You are not replaceable as anyone's child, spouse, father , mother or loved one but you are on the duty rota- Dr. Mitchelle K circa 2024. I truly do not take for granted any opportunity to commune with fellow junior doctors to inspire , learn and do better. May God have mercy on the junior doctors in this country.
