After MANY years of recruiting, I learned candidates love open communication most, good or bad news, tell it early and clearly. - Not selected, tell them. - Salary not in range, tell them. - Have another role that may fit, tell them, even better, help them - Have an offer, give it asap. (that is the best part in recruiting!) The 3-day rule or communication games do not belong in interviewing/hiring, or anywhere for that matter! 😆 The waiting and wondering can be the worst part of job search. 🚩 Agree? What is your biggest pet peeve in a job search? #hiringandpromotion #annoying #communication

Ranked #1 in the world for Career Coaching on LinkedIn. Helping professionals land fulfilling $200K-$500K jobs. Follow for posts about the job search, career growth, personal branding, and AI tools

I reviewed 300+ resumes this month. This one stood out from the rest. I always share it with my coaching clients and friends. And they're landing interviews and offers at companies like Google, OpenAI, and Stripe. For roles paying $100K-400K. I got the template from Teal's AI Resume Builder. It's a simple template, nothing fancy. But here's why it works: 1) Simple design & formatting Easy to read but also 'ATS-friendly' so you won't run into readability issues when you're applying to jobs and uploading your resume. 2) Strong summary Instead of jargon or an 'objective statement' they share a summary with/ highlights from their career. It's the first thing someone reads and can help get their attention. 3) Achievements > Responsibilities They clearly articulate what they've accomplished instead of just listing out their job responsibilities. 4) Measurable Impact Results and numbers are included for each job. People can easily understand what kind of impact they've had on the business. 5) Relevant Keywords & Skills The right keywords are embedded in their bullet points to demonstrate how they used those skills. A skills section is also included for easy reference. -- I work with many recruiters and hiring managers. They also appreciate seeing these things on a resume. Don't underestimate the power of a well-crafted resume. Use this template and best practices to stand out among the competition. Today, let's look at how a candidate positions themselves for promotion using soft skills at work. While technical skills are crucial, soft skills often play a critical role in determining who gets promoted. The 3 key skills hiring managers look for include; 1. Teamwork and Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment, actively listens to colleagues, and supports team goals by sharing knowledge and expertise. I've received many 6-figure job offers because I was the most prepared for the job interview, not because I was the "smartest". Here are 10 common interview questions and how to prepare for each, so you get a job offer: 1) What do you consider your greatest weakness? • Highlight a past weakness and the steps you took to overcome it and demonstrate your growth • Start with "I'm not sure about my greatest weakness but I can talk about a weakness in the past and how I overcame it" 2) What sets you apart from other candidates?   • Use this question to highlight your top 5 strengths directly related to this role, from the job description • Look to see which strengths they are looking for, and give examples of you possessing these traits in prior roles 3) Tell me a time you couldn’t meet a goal/deadline & how you handled it • Explain how you react to situations that don't go as planned • Explain a time when things didn't go as planned, how you fixed the situation, and lessons learned so it doesn't happen again 4) Tell me a time when you made a mistake. How did you handle it? • Illustrate how you overcome obstacles • Explain a time you made a mistake and highlight the things you did to fix the situation, and lessons you've learned so that mistake doesn't happen again 5) Why do you want to work for us/ this company? • Research the company and use this as a chance to talk about all the things you love about it • Mention why you like the position itself and why it's a great fit • Show excitement about the position and the company! 6) What is your greatest strength?  • Look at the job description and only talk about strengths directly related to the role you are interviewing for • Show why you are a great fit for this role and explain how you have the skills that this job demands 7) Tell me about some of the most difficult problems you worked on and how you solved them • Show how your problem-solving skills and your thought process • You want the interviewer to feel confident in your ability to solve problems & create solutions 8) Describe a time when you successfully balanced several competing priorities • Elaborate on your multitasking and organizational skills • Explain how you organize your work and schedule your time • Use this to show that you get things done! 9) Why do you want to leave your current position? • Thank your current role for the things you've learned but explain why you're interested in this current role • Explain what you enjoy most about the company and the position you're interviewing for 10) What have been your most significant accomplishments?  • Discuss problems that you've solved, related to this role • Talk about your top achievements that are directly related to this role, so the interviewer understands the value you bring to the company 👍 2024 will be the year you get a higher-paying job! ♻️ Too many people struggle with job interviews! Help them by sharing this!
