About us
The Nation Media Foundation (NMF) seeks to foster a better society in Kenya, East Africa, and the entire African continent. The Foundation’s flagship pillar is education and literacy, with other focus areas including climate resilience and response, health, entrepreneurship and the creative economy, and humanitarian aid.
NMF, the social-impact arm of the Nation Media Group (NMG), serves as a nexus between business and development, identifying and expanding connections between socio-environmental development and economic progress. NMF works to institutionalise NMG’s contributions towards attaining the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strategic partnerships and targeted, scalable interventions to bring about sustainable transformations.

🎄Nation Media Foundation was honoured to celebrate Christmas early at Mustard Seed Community Organization in Githunguri, Kiambu County, alongside partners Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) and Worldreader and the MCA this morning. In the giving spirit of the season, NMF and partners donated a wide range of essential food and hygiene supplies as well as literacy materials to support Mustard Seed and the community it serves. Mustard Seed is dedicated to improving the lives of disabled and vulnerable children in the Ngewa ward through integrated support services. We’re excited to continue engaging with the community in the area as our library project advances! #merrychristmas #christmas Nation Media Group

The Editorial team at Nation Media Group led by Managing Editors Washington Gikunju and Oliver Mathenge and the Nation Media Foundation led by Daisy Maritim Maina got a taste of some classic Thanksgiving food, and a glimpse into American festive traditions from Balozi Marc Dillard the Acting American Ambassador and Carla Benini the Acting Deputy Head of Mission. Special mention of a delightful corn pudding made by Balozi from his traditional family recipe. The US government continues to support media freedom, democracy, and development in Kenya- and this Thanksgiving we are grateful for this… and for the tasty turkey, sides and dessert they shared with us at Nation Center today!
