Temba (Formally Quick Cart Africa) reposted this
I had a fantastic time learning from the newly appointed Dean of Stanford University Graduate School of Business , Sarah Soule, at the beginning of the 2025 Stanford Seed Class. A big thank you to Steven Ongchin for his continued transformative support, making valuable introductions within the Stanford University network and Stanford Seed Alumni network, and helping to plug Temba (Formally Quick Cart Africa) into the Stanford Seed ecosystem. We dove deep into two major players in the African market as case studies on Microfinance: M-PESA Africa and Equity Bank Limited . Here are some key lessons I took from the class: Value Proposition vs. Competitive Advantage: Your value proposition explains why a customer chooses you, while your competitive advantage highlights what sets you apart from others in the market. There were so many interesting topics, but the most compelling for me was the similarities between M-PESA Africa and Equity Bank Limited, particularly in their customer value propositions. They focus on five key areas: 1. Their products and how they deliver them. 2. Understanding their customers' pain points. 3. How they market their products. 4. Who their customers are and how they learn about their needs. 5. The quality of their customer service: a) Do they relieve pain points? b) Do they create gains? I’m excited to join the Stanford Seed program in the next cohort and immerse myself in learning alongside some of the brightest minds working on solutions for emerging markets. #StanfordTransformationProgram #BusinessGrowth #Leadership #ScalingSuccess
