Representing Balora LTD at the 2024 Dekut Startup summit, it was fun and a learning experience from my fellow panelists. Key takeaways for resilient and sustainable startups, 1. A resilient team- Investors engage with investable People, as pointed out by Louis Wajeiya. 2. the team, and the founders will find it easy by building valuable connections as pointed out by Brighton K. 3. Building around a customer-centric solutions as illustrated by Magothe Innocent from Startinev. Resilience in the team in my opinion will be the ability to stay put through innovations because an Innovation is like aiming at a moving target with a shotgun while blindfolded, and someone besides you yelling, "hurry up". Excited to share that I had the honor of hosting the first episode of the Tech Chai podcast by Sumeya Ahmed! I had a fantastic conversation with Mohamud Ali, the founder of MwalimuPLUS one of Africa’s leading Edtech startups founded in Kenya. We delved into his inspiring founder journey, securing his first investment, the role of AI in education, fatherhood, and even about his time in Malaysia (spoiler - he didn’t meet Hushpuppi! 😅).
