👏 👏Go team, go!! The Wyss Academy for Nature Hub East Africa is—alongside partners Green Earth Warriors, Tambuzi Garden Roses, and the National Museums of Kenya—proudly in attendance at the 18th Annual Planners Convention hosted by the KENYA INSTITUTE OF PLANNERS. This year’s event takes place in sunny Mombasa at the Pride Inn Paradise Resort, and features plenaries, presentations, and exhibitions around the theme “Planning Towards Sustainable Food Systems and Ecosystems Management: Realizing a Food Secure and Productive Nation”. In addition to a booth showcasing landscape restoration outputs, the Wyss Academy and partners delegation will also deliver two presentations at the high-level event. The first by Benson Okita-Ouma, PhD., Hub Director, titled “Harnessing Semi-Circular Bunds for Community-Led Rangeland Revival: A Participatory Approach to Resource Planning and Management” and the other co-presented by Antony Wandera, Hub Projects Manager, and Victor Otieno, National Museums of Kenya, titled “A Catalytic Approach to Food Security and Healthy Rangelands in ASALs: a Case Study of Elephant Mushrooms in Northern Kenya”.

We always love hosting visitors to the farm and this time it was @pieterfilius, the Sales Manager @parfumflowercomppnay and his partner Brita!  Thank you for your visit as you can tell from the pics it was a busy one, they visited the homes who had water tanks installed, popped to @olpejetaconservancy for a remarkable game drive, visited a school where Brita made some donations. And of course they spent a lot of time on the farm and with @danielmwambia and our team checking out production, and packing. They also saw many new varieties for 2025 and learnt more about which varieties will increase in productions and which varieties we will bid farewell to!  Thank you so much for coming to see us, it is always a pleasure.

Last Thursday, Tambuzi Garden Roses had the pleasure of participating in and supplying roses for the final B Corp Community Engagement event of the year. Held at the vibrant @KO @ko_kraftroom_and_kocktail_bar in Nairobi, Kenya, the evening brought together inspiring voices, meaningful connections, and a shared dedication to sustainability. Highlights included powerful insights from Jackson Njoroge from @mrgreen_africa and Caroline Gichure from @kenyanoriginals, who shared their organizations’ transformative journeys toward B Corp certification. Their unwavering commitment to sustainable practices and creating positive social and environmental impact was truly inspiring. We were also delighted to connect with Kelvin from The Flower Hub, who is nearing B Corp certification—a significant milestone in advancing sustainable business practices in our industry. A special thank-you to @blabafrica for hosting this impactful event. Being part of such a dedicated and forward-thinking community reinforces our shared vision for a sustainable future. Together, we are making a difference. #BCorp #SustainableBusiness #CommunityImpact #TambuziGardenRoses

What an amazing week! This week we're all about recapping the last month of incredibly exciting adventures and beautiful roses and people of course! Today, we celebrate last week! We started off at IFTF which was rather fabulous this year with so many of our suppliers and customers there! The Alexandra Farms (photography by Cristi Neacsa stand featured a beautiful butterfly designed and installed by Alina Neacsa and her team. They were opposite MEILLAND, whose stand was truly unique this year, with a tree filled with over 1200 roses from Tambuzi Garden Roses. We popped in to see Rosaprima, and their roses were looking sensational! Our evenings were filled with parties and networking events, starting with the Coloríginz party for some serious networking and delicious snacks. Then over to the Interplant Roses BV party hosted at @belle epoque roses, and we won't lie - it looked sensational - Bart en Stef Bresser had dressed the venue with over 10000 roses 😍 (photography by @leonie jansen fotografie) The next day, we were at the Trade Show, and of course, we attended the Dutch Flower Group awards ceremony. That evening, we were off to Dümmen Orange, where we were shown some very exciting varieties, and we popped by Holex Flower BV for some fun games and delicious snacks and, of course, some more networking Our last evening was hosted by OZ Export BV, where we created a rather striking wall filled with our roses from @parfumflowercompany and, of course, @therosecompany. It was so good to see you all, and we are really looking forward to a remarkable year in 2025! Brent Kaandorp Wouter de Vries Daniel Mwambia Cindy Cooper

Meilland Monday: A Tribute to the Exquisite Yves Piaget Rose Imagine standing in a field surrounded by the captivating Yves Piaget roses—if only we could bottle their intoxicating fragrance! Known as the diva of the Piaget family, this rose is unforgettable with its stunning, full-petaled blooms and vibrant pink hues reminiscent of a luscious scoop of strawberry ice cream. Boasting an impressive 80 layers of petals, the Yves Piaget rose is celebrated for its powerful scent, highlighted by a hint of sunny citrus. This award-winning variety brings to mind the elegance of old garden roses from the 19th century, adored during Queen Adelaide's reign. Part of the esteemed MEILLAND® Jardin & Parfum series, Yves Piaget roses are a florist's dream, known globally for their peony-like shape and unmatched fragrance. These roses are not just blooms; they are a sensory experience.
