Celebrating 5 years of empowering every child to reach their full potential.

About us

TFK seeks to build a leadership force for the country that will catalyze systemic change in their communities to ensure that every Kenyan child unlocks their potential and is equipped to design a successful future for themselves. We aim to do this by recruiting talented young Kenyan leaders into a two-year teaching fellowship. The fellowship aims to place these high-potential leaders in teaching positions in high-need schools across the country, providing children with high-quality education and inspirational role models. Upon completion of the fellowship, these young leaders will be supported to take up leadership roles across society that will collectively contribute to the systemic change needed across Kenya to transform our schools, schooling systems, and the broader ecosystem of social and economic opportunity.

It’s 2025, and at Teach For Kenya, we’re calling this the YEAR OF MAC! 💥 MAC is an acronym that stands for:  Modelling Behavior  Aligning Resources  Catalyzing Change  For the last five years, we’ve focused our efforts on building strategic clarity, fostering stakeholder relationships and mastering our craft. We’re finally at a point where we feel like we’re great at what we do and for the next five years we’re keen to prioritize wellness, resource mobilization and data driven decision making. With a team like ours, the possibilities are endless.  We’ve also introduced a new department at TFK. The Play Department. We believe that play is a powerful tool for learning and we're tapping into that power to support the building of happy, playful and cohesive communities. Through our Learning Through Play Initiative, we are keen to see our children enjoy and own their learning. I’m excited that Brian Bosire, who has led our Recruitment Department for the last 5 years has transitioned into a new role as our first ever Head of Play. We’re excited to create from scratch and see our vision come to life.  2025 holds lots of promise for us at TFK, and we’re excited to collaborate with you all to make our vision a reality!  Happy New Year! 😊 #education #leadershipdevelopment #newyear #learningthroughplay #teachforkenya Fedinard Ochieng Iqbal Basant Anthony Wachira Rachael Mwangi Nelly Maluki (BA, MBA, MIHRM, MKIM, SHRM)

Co-founder MarckTech School | Teacher Leader at Teach for Kenya | EdTech | Data Analyst | Leadership

Three days ago, I had the incredible honor of presenting my capstone project to esteemed education stakeholders during the Teach For Kenya Partners Breakfast Meeting at Heron Hotel. Among them included the Heads of Partner Schools from Nairobi and Machakos, along with distinguished guests, including: - Our CEO, Yukabeth Kidenda - Madam Pauline Koki, Sub-County Director, Embakasi TSC - Mr.Raphael Kinyungu, Assistant Director of Teacher Management, Nairobi County - Ms. Ruth Owuor, Director of City Education, Nairobi County - Ms. Rosariah Mueni Mueni, Assistant Director of Quality Assurance, Nairobi County It was an unforgettable moment to showcase the transformative work happening in our classrooms under the Teach for Kenya fellowship. Through the Capstone Projects, we fellows are tasked with identifying critical education challenges in our communities and designing innovative solutions during our second year. For me, the challenge was clear: bridging the gaps in digital literacy and math performance for students in underserved areas through Dijitali Math Club—a program that integrates technology and education to equip learners with the tools they need for the 21st-century workplace. ✨ What Makes Dijitali Math Club Special? ✨️ - Students learn math using AI-powered tools like Excel, Tableau, and Scratch. - Confidence-building is a key focus, and the results speak volumes: 75% of my students improved their math performance by over 30%. - Students like Glory Tasha, a standout member of the program, have gone on to represent Kenyan students on international platforms, advocating for digital literacy. I’m immensely grateful to Teach For Kenya for creating a platform where educators like me can dream big and implement impactful solutions. A heartfelt thank you to my Leadership Development Coach, Anthony Wachira , whose guidance has been instrumental in shaping this journey. As I look ahead to the final year of this fellowship, I’m reminded that the work of transforming education requires collaboration, innovation, and unwavering determination. Here's to more learning, more impact, and ensuring that every Kenyan child has access to quality education, regardless of their background. 📚💻 Together, let’s redefine education for a brighter tomorrow. #TeachForKenya #EducationForAll #DigitalLiteracy #CapstoneProject #DijitaliMathClub
