Scaling Africa's Biochar Opportunity from Sugarcane Waste ⛰️ What you see here is giant heap of agricultural waste, creating a huge ecological problem ❗ However, it’s also a mountain of untapped resource for the local community. 🌍 Here’s the scale of the opportunity: • 50 million tons of sugarcane waste (bagasse) produced annually in Africa 🌾 • Potential to convert this into 10 million tons of biochar each year 🔄 • Capable of sequestering 1 million tons of CO2e by 2030 🌱 • Improving 500,000 hectares of agricultural land annually 🌾 At Tera, we’re turning waste into value.
