While Africa is endowed with abundant land, natural resources, and biodiversity that are crucial for agriculture, the continent still faces challenges in meeting this demand. Hailemariam Desalegn, AFS Board Chair, aptly asks, "Do we pause and ponder what it takes for food to arrive on our plates?" highlighting the essential role of smallholder farmers in our food systems.
