I am Michelle... and this is what i do... As I have always emphasized, the continuity of care is just as important as (if not more important than) talking a patient into starting CPAP Therapy. I am a Registered Nurse (SNB), Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT), and am Board Certified in Clinical Sleep Health (BRPT). CPAP therapy management is not about downloading and printing reports for patients, and is definitely not just about getting patients to purchase new masks or new hoses every year (although that could be one of the many responsibilities). Some boast of having 20 to 30 years of "experience" managing patients who are on CPAP therapy. I do not have 20 to 30 years of experience... of downloading and printing patient reports. I only have SIX years... six years of embarking on every patient's CPAP therapy journey WITH them, and walking alongside their jorney WITH them, until my services are not required... six years of troubleshooting... six years of providing solutions and not the template response of "Oh it's like that... it is supposed to be uncomfortable... you will get used to it some day..." NO. CPAP therapy is NOT "supposed" to uncomfortable... at least to most patients. No. We do not believe in pushing Bilevel devices to patients just for the sake of filling our pockets, when patients don't need it. We definitely do not deliberately make the CPAP device uncomfortable for patients, to convince them that they should buy a Bilevel device. No. We do not inflate our prices to patients by a thousand dollars or more, to grease anyone's palms.
