During my recent stay at Catalonia Square Hotel, I encountered several frustrating issues that greatly affected my overall experience. While the hotel's location was convenient and the cleaning service was commendable, the numerous service failures overshadowed these positives. Upon arriving at the hotel after a long flight, my family and I were eagerly anticipating a smooth check-in process. However, we were met with disappointment when we were informed that our room was not ready and would require an additional hour of wait time. This was particularly challenging, as we had a tired toddler with us. Considering that we arrived after the designated check-in time, it was disheartening that our room was not prepared in advance. By the time we got to our room was 4pm which is an hour after check in time. The hotel should have taken proactive measures to ensure a prompt check-in, especially considering the circumstances. Furthermore, we approached the hotel to request a taxi and were assured that the fare would range between 30-40 euros. Unfortunately, our experience with the taxi was far from satisfactory. The driver took advantage of our vulnerability as tourists and charged us an exorbitant 60 euros for a route that had no traffic. We expected better accountability from the hotel, as they were the ones who arranged the taxi and provided misleading information. This incident left us feeling taken advantage of and disappointed in the hotel's lack of responsibility. Additionally, the hotel's response time to our requests was frustratingly slow. On multiple occasions, we had to wait for an hour or longer after calling multiple times to receive the items or services we had requested for our room. This level of inefficiency and lack of promptness was unacceptable, and it significantly impacted our overall experience. This is a barely 3-star hotel, but for sure nowhere near 4 stars. Aside from the manager at the hotel, the rest of the staff were really helpful.
