Have been staying in this motel for over 20 years, when travelling Qld to Vic return. As usual rang the motel to book and found that the previous owner had sold up. New owner/Lessor took booking and Credit card info. Booking was made a number of weeks before hand. We drive Brisbane to Forbes in the day and arrived about 5:00 pm to be rudely and I mean rudely informed that our booking had been cancelled at reception as we had not responded to a phone call that morning. Thanks very much doing that to customers, driving all that way and being greeted with that, really makes your day. Well in all the years we had never had a confirmation call, then she stated they did not have our credit card details, as that had not been provided. I will put that simply that is a Furphy. Well that is a great end to the day after driving nearly 1,100 kilometres. Then she stated that room 9, which is the room we had booked was still available. We took it. Now I checked my phone there was a missed call that afternoon from that motel and then a later message being at 1:29pm and then at 3:32pm, not as she stated. She may want to keep her story straight and secondly and most importantly understand that the Newell Highway area does not have reception along its full length even with Optus. The most important factor is that her attitude, and lack of customer service and story telling has ensured that we will no longer use that motel. In fact stayed in Dubbo on the return. Long term customers lost for ever.
